Guddu's Perspective

For this blog post, please write a personal narrative from the perspective of Guddu. We don't really know what happened on the night Saroo was lost. Explain what happened from the viewpoint of Saroo's older brother. This is a time that you can get creative! Please write this entry in no less than 10 sentences.

Also, include a picture of what Guddu may have looked like (remember he was 14 years old). I used a picture of Guddu from the movie - as there are no actual photos of him.

Mrs. Carn's Example:

The night Sheru became lost was the most terrifying night of my life...for many reasons.  I left Sheru hoping to find work and then to return before sunrise. I came across a man named Anjali who needed help loading goods onto his storage truck intended for transport by morning. He promised me a little money and some leftover food he had for dinner. I immediately accepted. I worked for a good three hours and I was utterly exhausted - having not slept since the previous night. He gave me a few rupees and a half eaten loaf of bread. I took a bite out of the bread and decided to save the rest for Sheru. I knew I needed to get back. Sheru was a tough little kid but he would eventually get restless and agitated...and I didn't want him to wander. I picked up my pace - as I was a good twenty minutes away from the train station - because I wanted to get back as soon as possible. But I was so tired...my eyes were itchy and my bones were sore. As a ran across the set of tracks to get to my brother I suddenly tripped and fell. My foot became wedged between the rails. I couldn't move and the bright lights of an oncoming train were ahead. I struggled and fought to get myself up...but I just couldn't...the next thing I knew a piercing sound was screaming in my ears and all I saw was...darkness.
